日本の美の基準～今と昔～

日本の美人の基準の遷移を見ていきましょう！

補足までに、現在の美の基準は、大きな目と白い肌、小さな顔、細身とよく言われます。

これは昔からそうだったのでしょうか？

違います！

10世紀頃は切れ長の目に、ふくよかな顔、（尋常じゃない程の）白い顔が美人の条件でした。 その基準は戦国時代でもそう変わってはいません。

ただ、他国と同じように武将の奥方は賢くて勇気のある人だったようです。 そして、江戸時代は画家たちが美の基準を作っていきます。

流行はよく変わったようですが、こうして浮世絵たちが当時の美の基準を伝えています。 日本が開国してからは美の基準は現在に近くなっていきます。 ただ、目の大きさは今ほど大問題ではないような感じがありますね。

今は大きく二つの系統があります。 人のタイプを聞くときには、綺麗系と可愛い系はどっちが好き？と聞きます。

Let's see the history of beauty standards in Japan!

For your imformation, the current ones are like big eyes, white skin, small face and skinny body.

But! Has it been like this?

No.

In 10th century, theree elements were like sharp eyes, rounded face, and EXTREMELY white face.

The standards hadn't changed that much when all the Samurai existed in Japan. But, same as in other cultures, the wife of the top fighters had to be Intelligent and courageous.

Then before civilization, the standards were created by artists. Seems like it changed a lot, but see, all the Ukiyo-e paintings show what the beauty was at that time.

After Japan opened the borders to the world, the beauty standards had bacame closer to what it is now. But I feel like eyes were not that big deals back then. Now, we have two big categries.

To grasp people's types, we say; Do you prefer Kirei (cool, gorgeous) or kawaii (cute, pretty)?
